Isfahan University of Technology is going to become the center of the fourth industrial revolution with the support of Mobarakeh Steel company.
During the signing ceremony of the memorandum of Cooperation for setting up and equipping the first industry 4.0 laboratory in the country, the CEO of IRISA said: Isfahan University of Technology will become the center of the fourth industrial revolution.
According to IRASIN, On Monday evening, July 5, the first industry 4.0 laboratory in the country was inaugurated in the form of a memorandum of cooperation between Isfahan University of Technology and IRISA International Company, with the special support of Mobarakeh Steel Company. At the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation for setting up and equipping the first industry 4.0 laboratory in the country, Seyed Mahdi Naghavi, Deputy of Technology of Mobarakeh Steel Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors of IRISA, Seyed Mahdi Abtahi, President of Isfahan University of Technology, Rasoul Saraeian, CEO of IRISA, Ahmad Reza Tabesh, The Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Technology and a group of professors and managers of IRISA and Mobarakeh Steel Company were present.
Applying international experiences in advancing the Mobarakeh Steel digital plan
At the ceremony, Rasoul Saraeian, noting that the CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Company handed over a new mission to IRISA in late April, said: “Human capital is the Achilles heel of every economic and industrial enterprise and it is expected applying international experience and Cooperation with international universities be constructive in advancing the goals of the Mobarakeh Steel Digital Plan so that we can go through this path with the minimum error.
Introducing and passing through the history of IRISA Company, he stated: This company was established in 1992 with the aim of transferring industrial automation technology and information systems from European brokerage companies such as Simens, ILVA, GTI, etc.
He added: “The company has completed 1180 projects with 544 employees so far and pursues 5 main business pillars including information systems, industrial automation, network and infrastructure, digital transformation and small and medium businesses.”
The CEO of IRISA pointed to some of the honors of IRISA and explained: acquiring a knowledge-based license from the Deputy of Science and Technology of Presidency of Islamic Republic of Iran in 8 products, improving the company’s ranking among the top 500 companies (from 416 to 357) and being the first Iranian company to have All levels of automation as part of the company’s honors.
IRISA achieved the first rank of High Informatics Council; execution of more than 1,100 projects
He referred to the activity of this company in the industry of the country for more than a quarter of a century and said: “more than 550 specialized human resources are working in this company and achieving the first rank of High Informatics Council and execution of more than 1,100 projects in the field of the company along with winning the award of two stars of organizational excellence from the Industrial Management Organization of Iran and being among the top 500 economic companies in the country are some of the most important honors of IRISA Company.”
Saraeian divided the shareholders of IRISA Company into two parts and said: “Before July of last year, 75% of the shareholders of this company were Mobarakeh Steel Company and the other 25% were employees and other people. Currently, 49% of IRISA shareholders are Hormozgan Steel Company.”
He stated that 5.9% of the 544 active personnel in this company are IT graduates, adding that 89.2% of the company’s human resources are working in the operational department and 10.8% in the support and headquarters departments.
The CEO of IRISA, announcing that 40 of the company’s current employees have graduated from Isfahan University of Technology clarified: “364 of the company’s staff have a bachelor’s degree and 120 have a master’s degree and the frequent age range is between 34 and 40 years old.”
IRISA performance in the year of production leap
He introduced 5 key customers of IRISA as Mobarakeh Steel Company, Hormozgan Steel Company, Khuzestan Steel Company, Kashan Amir Kabir Steel Company and Sangan Steel Company and explained: “According to the customer plan, this company covers the whole country with its services.”
Saraeian pointed to the performance of IRISA Company in the year of production leap and said: “Last year, the groundbreaking ceremony for building the Innovation Center for Steel Digital Transformation was held and the IRISA virtual training system, LMS, was launched and the Mobarakeh Steel Company digital transformation plan was unveiled.”
He said: “additionally, the IRISA Skill Enhancement Project started and the first event in the series of Smart Steel Manufacturing Startup events known as 3S was held last year.”
Referring to the initiation of the Training Project for the Leaders of Mobarakeh Steel Digital Transformation Plan, the CEO of IRISA stated: “The company’s comprehensive human resources project started on November 1 and in the first Reverse Page event, the selected companies had a field visit.
He also noted the holding of the second instance of 3S events and added: “achieving the two-star award of organizational excellence from the Industrial Management Organization and improving the company’s ranking among the top 500 companies has been part of the company’s honors in the year of production leap.”
Saraeian also pointed briefly to holding a workshop on drafting IRISA Digital Transformation Plan projects and said: “Unveiling of 22 digital transformation projects of Mobarakeh Steel Company, arranging the first meeting of IRISA project managers, arranging the first meeting of the company’s specialized groups and organizing the first event to present the plan and budget for 2021 are some of the measures and activities of IRISA Company in the last year.

He also announced the unveiling of the IRISA digital transformation plan called IRISA Plus and specified: “Mobarakeh Steel Company’s digital transformation roadmap can be assessed in several parts: Smart Mobarakeh Steel 2, Smart Mobarakeh 3, Smart Mobarakeh 4, The Outlook Document of 2025 and Smart Mobarakeh Steel at the world class level.
The CEO of IRISA introduced the Digital and Smart Mobarakeh Steel 2 with emphasis on smart maintenance and repairs, smart energy management, smart quality control, smart operating and value chain and added: “To achieve these goals, optimization of smart maintenance programs using AI, the production of spare parts using 3D printing, analysis of power consumption of devices with the aim of reducing electricity and gas consumption, realizing green energy and increasing the accuracy of production planning. He added: “we’ve considered the targeted priorities such as supply chain process optimization, smart logistics, smart environment and smart human capital and smart financial solutions in the road of making the processes smart and innovative.”
Saraeian mentioned creation of digital twin and development of fourth generation of information systems and software as the priorities of management, monitoring and big data analysis in the center of integrated operations and integrated intelligent interfaces, and said: “To achieve these goals, we are focusing on establishing central distributed control rooms, virtual monitoring and control of the entire factory using VR and identification and explanation of data sources inside and outside the organization and their compliance with the conditions and standards of the digital twin.”
He explained the priorities of Connected Mobarakeh Steel Company as evaluation and goal-setting, developing organizational culture, innovation and training of human resources, smart factory platform, communication infrastructure development, computing and storage infrastructure development and information and communication technology security and added: “In this optimization path, selecting the target area, formulating and developing the native maturity model and setting up a smart distributed factory platform throughout the Mobarakeh Steel Group is part of how to achieve these goals.”
IRISA to become the reference point for the digital transformation ecosystem of the steel industry by 2025
