Futures studies on the macro-management desk of Mobarakeh Steel Company
Mobarakeh Steel Company’s Deputy of Technology stated: “With a historical review in the world of industry, we come across large companies that no longer exist now and it emphasizes the importance of futures studies; the fact that what path should be taken is the most important issue on the desk of the leaders of an organization.
Referring to the study on defined knowledge-based ecosystems, he said: “Our study findings lead to four approaches that the future of Steel Mobarakeh Company is based on these four axes.” The first axis was the development of processes; Processes that lead to the production of products called steel. These processes are created and used based on existing technologies in the field of steel.
Naghavi explained the second axis of futures studies in Mobarakeh Steel Company as follows: The second axis is the development of a company’s products. Since the product introduction cycle to the market in the steel industry is longer than other industries and the process of finishing the product and achieving it is difficult and costly this axis had to be properly considered in the studies.
He mentioned the “Digital Transformation Plan” as the third binding and important issue and said: “The third axis is the move towards digitalization, which we noticed it in this study.” But the fourth area that has not been addressed in Iran, and it seems that Mobarakeh Steel Company, as the first industrial unit, has made policies about it, is the issue of “secular economy”, which can guarantee the long-term survival of the organization.
Mobarakeh Steel Company’s Deputy of Technology pointed out that we have utilized all the capacities of Mobarakeh Steel Group in order to achieve our goals in the four specified policies and clarified that “The future forecast will make us ahead of competitors in the global market by stabilizing our position.”
Cooperation with the Steel Research Institute to develop the products of Mobarakeh Steel Company
Referring to the missions of the “Steel Research Institute of the University of Technology” to develop products for the Mobarakeh Steel Group and the Iranian Steel Industry, Naghavi said: “We are proud to announce that two important and strategic measures were employed in this research institute last year; One was the production of “human prostheses” used in the country’s medical industry, eliminating the need for imports. The second measure of this research institute was to establish “Mobarakeh Steel Technology and Innovation Development Company” with the aim of creating a center (COE) so that we can invest in the development of Steel Mobarakeh Company in two areas of “process development” and “secular economy” and to advance in these issues as our mission using our national capacity.
Mobarakeh Steel Company’s digital transformation plan is binding and a “must”
Mobarakeh Steel Company’s Deputy of Technology noted that The use of “digital transformation plan” by the country’s decision makers shows that the policy of Mobarakeh Steel Company will be successful in this approach and said: “Mobarakeh Steel Company’s digital transformation plan is binding and a must and this “Must” is justified by the survival issue; Because in the near future, companies that push the Trojan horse inversely are doomed to failure.
He added: “The digital transformation plan in Mobarakeh Steel Company was defined with the slogan “Mobarakeh Smart Steel Company from rock to color” because it goes through this path from the iron ore imported to the company to the colored products.
Constructive interaction with universities is the second wing in succeeding in the digital transformation plan
stating that Mobarakeh Steel Group is a wing for realization of the digital transformation plan, Naghavi added: “Undeniably, the second wing of this plan is the universities and by defining missions and programs, we decided to put in place constructive interaction with universities including groundbreaking ceremony of the “Digital Transformation Center of the Steel Industry ” using the knowledge of startups and the support of the University of Tehran and the Deputy of Science and Technology in the Presidency of Islamic Republic of Iran in the campus of the University of Tehran.”
He described the groundbreaking ceremony of the “Digital Transformation Center of the Steel Industry” as the commencement of the digital transformation plan and added: “The same goal has been pursued in opening the first Industry 4.0 laboratory in the Isfahan university of technology and we take measures with a national vision in the issues regarding the future of the industry by employing Isfahan capabilities.”
Mobarakeh Steel Company’s Deputy of Technology noted the training course for leaders of Mobarakeh Steel Company’s digital transformation plan with the cooperation of University of Isfahan and said: “This program started as an applied instance regarding the new applied courses and fortunately the second semester of this course is being held. Today, all the managers of Mobarakeh Steel Company are familiar with the terminology of the “digital transformation plan” and use it and it’s due to the efforts of IRISA Company and the management of Mobarakeh Steel Company.
He pointed to the third program in order to realize the digital transformation plan and added: “The best location technically for the construction of the first industry 4.0 laboratory in the country is Isfahan University of Technology, because the university always cooperates with Mobarakeh Steel Group.” It can lead to the training of specialists in the future, and these researchers can launch a digital transformation plan in the country in the near future.
Referring to case studies conducted in universities in Germany, France and the Polytechnic of Milan, Naghavi considered the University of Technology as a proper choice and explained: “The opening of Industry 4.0 Laboratory is one of the other requirements and will be inevitable for the digital transformation plan because we believe research and expertise in the new generation should take place in the university and Mobarakeh Steel Company should also provide support in this area so that we can benefit from its results in the country.”
