It is worth noting the Industry 4.0 or the fourth generation of industrial automation creates a digital transformation in the industries. In other words, this concept suggests the intertwining and comprehensive connection of hardware and software components through the Internet of Things platform in the industrial environment. Connecting components via the internet as opposed to the previous automation generation, which were connected only through internal networks, has provided a platform for applying artificial intelligence in system management as well as the opportunity to use cloud processing infrastructure and edge computing in industry chain in general.
Specifically, artificial intelligence can be used in various areas of steel production industry from the extraction stage to the production and delivery of the final product such as smart production process, smart customer relations, smart market analysis and management, smart maintenance process, optimal monitoring of work environment and improving workplace safety. All of these measures improves the efficiency and safety of the workplace while reducing production costs.
